Using social media to find your wedding suppliers is Fatal! 

Especially for destination weddings in Spain!

I often see couples posting in social media groups looking for suppliers and help with their Wedding. I have been a wedding planner here in Spain for over 15 years and when I see these posts it makes me want to cry! Not because they don't have a wedding planner, or are not using my services, but because they are about to embark on a very dangerous journey that could see them lose money or end up with a ruined wedding! I guess they expect that all people are honest, that everything is as it seems, or that Spain is the same as any other place when it comes to wedding planning, but it's not! 

When I see these posts and the deluge of responses that always follow anyone asking anything about their wedding in Spain, I am always shocked at some of the recommendations! You see, Spain is not only a holiday destination, but it's full of expats who have made a home here, some of them desperate for work, will attempt anything to get by, and at least 50% of them are working illegally, even when they seem like the real deal, often they are not! I have seen many couples paying deposits for what seems like genuine services, only to be let down, often last minute and often losing the deposit money!
